MOOD board | May 2020

MAY FEELS ARE IN THE AIR.

Does the beginning of this month make you think about N’Sync?

Holy moly! It’s already the beginning of the fifth month of the year, I can’t believe how fast time has flown. As I’m writing this, it’s nice and sunny here in Vancouver. The days are longer and brighter, the air is warmer, and the plants and trees are more colourful than ever. That being said, I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself as there are also still quite a few rainy days left this season, but they are less dreary than the winter ones.

I have been feelings a lot of gratitude lately.  Gratitude for every single worker who is helping keep the world afloat right now, from the front line, to the grocery store, and every support staff running behind the scenes. I am grateful for my family, my home, being able to get groceries, having loving and supportive friends, scheduling weekly girls’ night phone calls, being able to get fresh air, and above all I’m grateful for my health. There is so much to be grateful for, and gratitude brings warmth doesn’t it?

This month’s mood board has a warm and sunny energy about it, and that is what I want to be channeling this month. We are coming up to two months of isolation restrictions and, even though they may be lifted slightly in the coming weeks, we’ve got a long road of this new way of living. So, I’m focusing on warmth, brightness, and soothing vibes as I continue to adjust to the shift, and I’m hoping that you can get those feelings from this mood board, too.

And last but not least, here is a list of things that I am currently loving and/or feeling inspired by:

The early morning sun hitting the trees, the smell of fresh cut grass, DIY furniture projects, funny tiktok videos, homemade/handmade goods, the positive impact of de-cluttering, twizzlers pull-and-peel, moments of pause, waking up early without an alarm, 90’s pop music, all of my friends navigating their iso-journeys, puppy videos (does this one come up often?), ruffles all-dressed potato chips (always).

Stay happy and healthy and all the things,

Hello! Catherine here.

I’m a Vancouver-based interior designer and love all things creative! I’ll be sharing things that inspire me, posting design tips and DIY projects, chatting about all kinds of topics, and hopefully inspiring some people to make little changes at home to create an environment that is functional, beautiful, and a perfect reflection of you!
