MOOD board | January 2020

JANUARY FEELS ARE IN THE AIR.

It’s a new year and a new decade. It’s also just another day to enjoy and look at some images that evoke the good feelings. :)

For this month’s mood board, I collected a lot of images that resonated for me but found that they fell under either a warm or a cool colour palette. I ended up making two separate mood boards to pick between - a cool one and a warm one. But I realized that my favourite images were split between the two, so I combined them into one board and feel pretty good about it! It’s a balance of the visually warm and cozy, but also cool and crisp, which I think sums up the month of January for me.

Here are each of the images that made it onto the board:

I picked up a Norwegian wood chopping/stacking/drying book last month and am really into the art of wood piles. We also have a wood pile for our wood stove, so I can truly appreciate all things firewood.Photo: Susan Burns Design

I love the looseness of this watercolour, and how it still beautifully conveys the landcsape.Photo: Art Literature

And last but not least, here is a list of things that I am currently loving and/or feeling inspired by:

Quality handmade objects, warm white lights, feminine curves, raw earthen tones, rocks, white sneakers and black vinyl pants, fresh herbs and greens, Norwegian wood stacking, vintage rugs, red lipstick, long runs in cold, dry weather, warm spicy citrus scents.
